CHANGE THE WORLD -2010
Wow! YOU made it happen!
Many thanks to the dozens of volunteers and participants in Change the World.
- Because of your efforts, 157 boxes of clothes will be available to residents in Paterson, NJ, in cooperation with St. Philip's Ministry.
- More than 25 boxes of pet supplies will be delivered to Noah's Ark Animal Shelter.
- $500 was raised to purchase mosquito netting for an ongoing project in Uganda. (that's almost 70 nets). Most importantly, you have helped to save the lives of precious children.
- $350 will go to the Building Fund of the Morris County Food Pantry. All of those who either made or tasted chili made that happen.
- $110 will help support Radio Methos in Cote d'Ivoire, through the efforts of all those who baked brownies - and those who sacrificed their diets in order to taste them.
- $168 will help provide support for a child in Camden, NJ to participate in a summer enrichment program. (Hotdogs & Hope)
- $80 will allow Kamina Children's Home in North Katanga region, Congo, to provide housing, food, clothing and education for a child for 70 days. (Cookies for Kamina)
- $75 will help provide safe drinking water in Sudan.
Most especially, we wish to thank:
The Girl Scouts (from 3 different area troops) who participated - and their leaders, of course.
Also, the individuals and five restaurants who provided chili for our Chili Cook-Off. Alexis Diner won the Cook-Off, and is now "Chili Champion of the Rockaways." They were joined by Potbelly's Restaurant, The Rattlesnake Cafe, Texas Smoke, and Torpedo Joe's.
And Jack Borris, who represented the Rockaway Rotary Club at the NO MORE MALARIA table.
